One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & / JONES. / GREENSBORO.PA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring circular Hamilton and Jones maker's stenciling flanked by abstract stenciled foliate and geometric devices. Freehand stripes to shoulder and base. Small chips to inner rim for lid. A small in-the-firing iron ping to front. Minor surface wear. A 2" in-the-firing flake to underside along edge. H 9 7/8".
