Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO, PA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, featuring Hamilton and Jones maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled sunrise motif. Freehand stripes to shoulder and base. Stenciled "2" flanked by stylized tulips at base. Small chips and nicks to shoulder molding. A small in-the-firing base chip on reverse. Some minor surface wear. H 12".
