One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON / and / JONES / GREENSBORO. / PA.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring unusually large Hamilton and Jones maker's stenciling, freehand stripes to the shoulder and base, and stenciled tulips flanking the abbreviation, "PA." A small chip to underside of rim. Otherwise excellent condition. H 9 3/4".
