Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Norton Family, Bennington, VT, circa 1823-1838, a one-gallon ovoid jug with brushed floral decoration, stamped "L. NORTON / BENNINGTON," circa 1823-1828; paired with a three-gallon ovoid jug with brushed floral decoration, stamped "L. NORTON & SON / BENNINGTON," circa 1828-1833. Smaller jug with a spout chip, a few small base chips, one of which is glazed over, and in-the-firing iron pings. Larger jug with an in-the-firing flake to top of spout, two small spout chips, an in-the-firing chip to handle, very minor chipping to base, and some minor in-the-firing flaws to surface.
