Four-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Inscribed "Butter," Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with applied lug handles and semi-rounded rim, featuring the slip-trailed cobalt inscription, "Butter." A 6 1/2" crack from rim on reverse. Rim chips. An in-the-firing iron ping to interior of rim. Two small chips to one handle. A small chip and two nicks to opposite handle. H 11 1/4".
