Stoneware Pitcher with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1870, ovoid pitcher with footed base and heavily-tooled collar, brush-decorated with three tulips extending up the front. Two swags above and large graduated swags to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Some fry to cobalt. A 1 1/2" flake to interior of spout, partially visible on exterior. A 1 1/4" surface crack from rim on front, not visible on interior, terminating into a small rim chip. A 1/2" chip to opposite side of rim. A minor nick to interior of rim. Areas of staining. H 11".
