One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Heart-Shaped Foliate Decoration, attributed to Barnabas Edmands, Charlestown, MA, mid 19th century, cylindrical jar with applied lug handles and flared collar with semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a plant with scrolled stems forming a heart-shaped motif. A tiny chip to one handle. A 5/8" base flake and tiny base nick. A minor, in-the-firing iron ping to side of jar, which is glazed over. A tiny rim nick. Minor traces of old paint to rim. Minor staining. H 9 3/8".
