Fine Three-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Triple-Floral Decoration, Stamped "M WOODRUFF / CORTLAND," NY State origin, circa 1867-1869, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder and squared spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed daisy blossom embellished with swags and spots, flanked by two smaller blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with a short, minor in-the-firing line to spout, an in-the-firing contact mark to right of decoration, and some light staining. H 16".
