Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped Twice "LYONS," Thompson Harrington, Lyons, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a tulip motif including stamens emanating from the tip of the blossom. Brushed "2" to shoulder. Cobalt highlights to maker's marks. A 4" hairline from rim on front. Chipping to inner rim for lid. A small glazed-over iron ping to reverse. A second, partially-exposed iron inclusion near base on front. Light staining. H 11 3/4".
