One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG, PA," circa 1865, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and squared spout, brush-decorated with a drooping flower composed of a series of graduated daubs. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. Excellent condition with minor in-the-firing chipping to interior of spout, minor chipping to base, some in-the-firing discoloration, and small spots of staining. H 11".
