Two Three-Gallon Stoneware Crocks with Cobalt Decoration, American, second half 19th century, a three-gallon crock with slip-trailed flowering plant motif and cobalt-highlighted capacity mark, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century; paired with a three-gallon crock with slip-trailed "3" and "bee stinger" motif below, attributed to Red Wing, MN, circa 1885. Floral crock with a 4" crack on underside, continuing 7" diagonally up proper right side of crock, a short line from rim above proper right handle, a 1 1/4" flake to interior of rim, minor chips to interior of rim, exfoliation at base on reverse, and minor staining. Other crock with two chips to proper right handle, a few in-the-firing chips to bottom edge, minor exfoliation to surface, some fry to cobalt, and water glass staining to interior. H 10 5/8".
