Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jugs, Northeastern U.S. origin, fourth quarter 19th century, both of cylindrical form, a one-gallon jug with slip-trailed name, "J.H. Farrington," stamped "NEW YORK / STONEWARE CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.;" paired with a two-gallon advertising jug, inscribed "D. Osborn & Co. / Newark, / N.J." Farrington jug in excellent condition with a small base chip and a minor glazed-over ping to spout. Newark jug with a long, wide crack in spout, spout chips, spots of staining to surface, and in-the-firing chips to underside along bottom edge. H (of taller) 13 1/2".
