Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Churn, Stamped "S.L.H," Sylvanus Hartsoe, Lincoln County, NY, fourth quarter 19th century, narrow-bodied, ovoid form with heavily-tooled shoulder, narrow flaring collar, and applied lug handles, the surface covered in a streaky olive-green alkaline glaze. Impressed "S.L.H." on one handle and "2" on the opposing handle. A shallow 2" flake extending across edge of one handle. Two long flakes along edge of opposing handle. Two rim chips.
