Rare Small-Sized Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "1895," attributed to J. A. Roberts, Cookeville, TN, 1895, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder and slightly-flared spout, featuring the large date, "1895," in individually-stamped numbers at the base. Surface covered in streaky, reddish-brown Albany slip glaze. Exhibited: Tennessee Turned, Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900, Part One, Museum of East Tennessee History, May 16-October 30, 2011. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6 1/4".
