An estimate is an expected selling price for an item at auction. It is entirely possible for an item to sell for less or more than the given estimate.
×Cobalt-Glazed Redware Pitcher, Stamped "Frey," American, circa 1920's, ovoid pitcher with flared rim, heavy thrown lines, and rounded handle, the exterior surface covered in a lead-based cobalt glaze, the interior with clear lead glaze over an orange ground. Underside impressed "Frey." An example of Frey pottery ware is featured in the collection of the American Folk Art Museum. Pieces bearing this mark have typically been attributed to an early to mid 19th century potting family in Berks County, PA. However, such pieces are actually art pottery dating to the 1920's, probably made in New York City. Surface and rim wear. Small rim chips. H 4 3/4".
