Five-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Alkaline Glaze, Southern U.S. origin, late 19th or early 20th century, semi-ovoid jug with two small applied handles at the shoulder and semi-squared spout, the surface covered in a brown alkaline glaze with heavy blue-and-white rutile throughout. Incised "5" at shoulder. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 19".
