Glazed Stoneware Pitcher with Owl Motif, Inscribed "Hilton," Hilton Pottery, Catawba County, NC, circa 1940, squat-shaped, decorated with a brown owl on branch against a lighter-brown ground. "Hilton" in black crayon on underside. Provenance: Ex-Salley Cathey, former owner of Blue Ridge Weavers, Tryon, North Carolina, who purchased it from Mrs. Hilton in the 1950s; Brunk Auctions, Asheville, NC, Jan. 8, 2005, lot 132. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 3 1/2".
