Rare Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration, OH origin, mid 19th century, ovoid jar with tall collar and applied lug handles, decorated with splashed cobalt slip. Includes original domed lid with pointed finial with splashed cobalt slip and brushed tulip motif. Jar with a sealed 4 1/2" diagonal crack from rim on reverse and a minor nick to interior of rim. Lid with chips and wear to flange on underside, wear to tip of finial, a small in-the-firing chip to edge, and a minor edge chip. H (including lid) 14 1/2".
