An estimate is an expected selling price for an item at auction. It is entirely possible for an item to sell for less or more than the given estimate.
×Very Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Presentation Jar with Brown Slip Decoration, attributed to Isaac Warnack, Upper Alton, IL, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and tall collar with flattened rim, brush-decorated in reddish-brown slip on one side with a two-stemmed flowering plant and faintly-incised inscription and on the reverse with a brushed stylized tree or leaf along with a distinctive two-gallon capacity mark. Large reddish-brown slip band to collar and rim. Made at the Upper Alton, Illinois pottery of the Knoxville-trained potter, Isaac Warnack.
