Four-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, NY State origin, circa 1825, ovoid jug with wide, semi-squared spout, brush-decorated with a tulip emanating from wreath-shaped leaves, surrounded by a looping line. Freehand "4" below. A long in-the-firing contact mark to top of spout. A small spout chip. A glazed-over dent to base. Some staining and light surface wear. H 16 1/2".
