One-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Stamped "LYONS," Thompson Harrington, Lyons, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with semi-squared rim and applied lug handles, brush-decorated with a stylized plant with wavy stems. Includes Northeastern salt-glazed stoneware lid, probably not original to the jar. A long horizontal crack at base with thin cracks extending off from it onto underside. A few small in-the-firing base chips. Lid with filled edge chips, a loss to knob, and surface crazing. H (including lid) 10".
