Albany-Slip-Glazed Stoneware Tobacco Jar, Stamped "S.S. PERRY. / TROY.," NY State origin, circa 1828-1833, molded, four-sided jar with semi-rounded rim and impressed arching drape motif to each side, the surface covered in an Albany slip glaze. Underside impressed with S.S. Perry maker's mark. Provenance: Purchased by Wahler from Bearden Antique Mall, Knoxville, TN in 1978. A faint 4 1/2" Y-shaped line to underside. A minor base nick. H 9 1/8".
