Glazed Redware Figure of a Goose, PA origin, circa 1850-1880, hand-modeled figure of a goose on oval base, featuring an applied and incised topknot, impressed circular eyes, and incised details to beak, wings, and tail. Border of base and upper tail area embellished with impressed circles. Brushed and splashed manganese decoration to goose, the whole covered in a clear lead glaze. Added clay to the interior cavity of the figure allows it to rattle when shaken. Professional restoration to large section of oval base. Goose itself in very nice condition with some wear to topknot and other extremely minor glaze wear. L 4" ; H 3 3/4".
