Manganese-Decorated Redware Jug, Norwalk, CT or Huntington, Long Island, NY origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base, semi-rounded spout, and ribbed strap handle, the lead-glazed surface decorated with large daubs of manganese against a reddish ground. Two base chips. Heavy wear to edges of handle. Some wear to interior of spout. Light surface wear. H 7".
