Ten-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to William "Leet" Hamilton, Greensboro, PA, circa 1860, semi-ovoid jar with incised banding to midsection, tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and ribbed lug handles, brush-decorated with a large fuchsia vine design. Freehand stripe decoration below rim. Freehand "10" flanked by dashes at base. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Sealed top-to-bottom crack extending across underside and up to midsection on reverse. Some chips along this damage. Early metal band to base and wire below rim. Two short firing cracks to reverse end of proper right handle. H 20".
