Glazed Redware Jar, Incised "13," Eastern TN or Southwestern VA origin, second or third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base and rounded rim, the shoulder decorated with incised wavy combing between pairs of straight lines. Surface covered in a mottled reddish-brown lead-and-manganese glaze. Incised "13" at shoulder. A 1 1/2" chipped section to foot. Some in-the-firing glaze spalling and light surface wear to body of jar. A 1 1/4" rim chip. Wear to rim and inner rim for lid. Some areas of surface lacking glaze application, as-made. H 7 1/2".
