Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, probably Rockbridge County, VA, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, small tab handles, and tapered rim, decorated with spattered cobalt on one side and brushwork surrounding the handles. Chipping to proper right handle. Two minor chips to proper left handle. A minor, glazed-over dent to rim and minor in-the-firing nick to rim. Minor surface wear. H 11 3/4".
