Rare Glazed Redware Pitcher, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va," circa 1875, ovoid pitcher with tall collar, and ornately-molded handle, decorated around the collar and midsection with wavy combed incising, the surface covered in a heavy lead glaze with cream-slip accents. Impressed on collar with Solomon Bell maker's mark. One of only a small group of marked Solomon Bell redware pitchers known. A restored flake to base of handle and two restored flakes below. Light spout wear. H 7 7/8".
