Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON. / STRASBURG.," VA origin, circa 1890, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, the surface dipped in cream-colored slip and decorated with an alternating pattern of single splotches of copper and double splotches of manganese, all under a clear lead glaze. Provenance: Brunk Auctions, Asheville, NC. Various surface wear, rim wear, and staining. A 2 1/2" line from rim. A Y-shaped line and T-shaped line at base, both continuing onto underside. H 8 5/8".
