Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Iron Slip Decoration, John Davis Leopard or possibly Ussery Family, Bacon Level, Randolph County, AL, circa 1845, cylindrical jar with tapered shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated around the body with four large daubs of iron slip against an olive-colored, alkaline-glazed ground. Excellent condition with minor wear to rim and body and two stone inclusions in clay. H 11 1/4".
