Fine Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with Alkaline Glaze, AL origin, circa 1850-1880, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, two handles applied at the shoulder, and tooled banding to the shoulder and base, the surface covered in a streaky, olive-green alkaline glaze. Desirable form, size, and glaze. Excellent condition with some in-the-firing lines/fissures, which are glazed over, as well as some shallow chipping to bottom edge. H 20".
