Exceptional Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar with Profuse Incised Decoration, attributed to the Jacob Eichelberger Pottery, Talladega County, AL origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with flared rim and arched lug handles, extravagantly-decorated throughout with combed incising in the form of five circumferential bands interspersed with overlapping wavy bands. Among the finest displays of the region's distinctive incised decorative treatment. Excellent condition with only minor flaws.
