Two-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "H. FOX," Chatham County, NC, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jug with tall spout and rounded mouth, decorated with four heavily-incised bands around its circumference. Shoulder impressed with Himer Fox maker's mark below a Masonic symbol and two-gallon capacity mark. Provenance: Southern Folk Pottery Collectors Society. A 6 1/2" vertical line to reverse. A minor base chip. H 14 1/2".
