Exceptional Two-Gallon Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug, attributed to the Craven Family, Randolph or Moore County, NC, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with wide, rounded spout, the surface covered in a heavy salt glaze featuring dramatic olive-colored runs descending the vessel's body. A particularly well-glazed example. A thin, curving crack at base on reverse, extending to shoulder area on proper left side of jug. Otherwise excellent condition. H 13 3/4".
