Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Southeastern U.S. origin, possibly Thomas Owenby, Union District, SC, circa 1860, ovoid jar with narrow mouth, flattened rim and curved lug handles, decorated with a streaky, olive-colored alkaline glaze including a long glass run descending from the rim to the base and another descending from the rim to the shoulder. A very large reglued section extending from base area to underside. A 7/8" rim chip. A 1 3/8" reglued rim chip. H 11".
