Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Incised "V," attributed to Pottersville Pottery, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1830, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and rim, the surface covered in a gray-green alkaline glaze. Hand-incised "V" at base. A smooth 1" in-the-making base chip. A 4 1/2" sealed Y-shaped crack from rim. Several short cracks from rim. H 8 3/8".
