Eight-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware "ICE WATER" Cooler with Stenciled Rooster Motif, OH origin, circa 1880, semi-ovoid cooler with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, applied lug handles, and circular bunghole at base, decorated with a stenciled design of a crowing rooster below two stenciled roses. Inscribed "ICE WATER" in stenciled lettering above, along with a stenciled "8." Bunghole with brushed spot decoration. Cobalt highlights to front handle terminals. A thin 8 1/4" crack to far proper right side of cooler's front. An additional thin 4 1/2" crack from rim on front. A small chip to proper left handle. H 16 1/4".
