Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Paddletail Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITE & WOOD," UTICA, NY origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of a crested bird with paddle-shaped tail, perched on a leafy vine. A few small spout chips. Some in-the-firing flaws, including an in-the-firing base chip, a few spots of fry to cobalt, contact marks, and iron pings. H 15".
