×Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N.A. WHITE & SON, / UTICA, N.Y.," circa 1885, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, lavishly-decorated with a brushed and slip-trailed design of flowering plant featuring a central daisy-shaped blossom flanked by spade-shaped leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Some small losses/wear to cobalt. A 1 1/4" rim chip on reverse. A shallow 1 1/8" in-the-firing iron ping to top of rim and a few other minor chips to top of rim. Light staining to proper left side/reverse. H 12 1/4".
