Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Baltimore, MD origin, second quarter 19th century, both of ovoid form with squared rims and arched tab handles, a one-gallon jar with brushed two-stemmed clover motifs on the front and reverse and a one-and-a-half-gallon jar with brushed two-stemmed floral motif on the front and reverse. Smaller jar in very nice condition with two small rim chips and an in-the-firing contact mark near base. Larger jar with chips to one handle, a minor chip, tiny nick, and short line to opposite handle, two small chips to interior of rim, and a few minor base chips, one of which is glazed over. H 10".
