Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Clover Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, mid 19th century, both with double-stemmed clover motifs on the front and reverse, a filter, circa 1860, and an ovoid four-gallon jar, circa 1840. Filter with an in-the-making loss to one handle, which is brushed over with cobalt, a spider crack and other crack from rim, two small rim chips, and a small glazed-over chip to interior of rim and foot above tubular filter base. Jar with loss to one handle, a long crack from rim, a few small rim chips, and staining to surface. H (of filter) 15".
