Fine Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1825, semi-ovoid jar with footed base, heavily-tooled shoulder, squared rim, and arched tab handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a lavish triple-stemmed tulip plant. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Base chips. Chips and flakes to handles. A minor chip to interior of rim. Some in-the-firing pings and light wear to surface. H 14 3/4".
