Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "H. SMITH & Co," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1825, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied tab handles, brush-decorated on the front with a row of chain links and on the reverse with a horizontal stripe. Significant restoration to both handles. Restored cracks to body. A thin line to underside. Mottling to surface. H 13".
