Glazed Redware Trivet with Relief Urn-and-Grapes Decoration, attributed to John Bell, Waynesboro, PA, circa 1850-1880, circular form with coggled edge on three molded feet, decorated with relief grape clusters and leaves surrounding a central urn brimming with flowers and grapes. Surface decorated with sponged manganese over orange clay and covered in a clear lead glaze. Underside impressed with John Bell maker's mark. A chip to top edge. Wear to top surface. Chipping along bottom edge and light wear to underside. A tight 3 1/2" crack from edge. Diam. 8 1/2".
