Two Glazed Redware Cream Pitchers, attributed to J. Eberly & Co. or S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, each of squat-shaped, ovoid form with footed bases and wide, flaring collars; one decorated with splashes of copper and manganese over cream-colored slip, the other decorated with yellow slip over a darker ground. Lead-glazed surfaces. Taller with heavy wear to rim, nicks to molding at base of collar, a small in-the-firing contact mark to handle, a horizontal crack in base of handle, wear to handle, and base chips. Shorter with heavy wear to rim, a 1" rim chip, wear to handle, a 5/8" base chip, and a small fleck of glaze to body. H (of taller) 6 1/8".
