Two Pieces of Multi-Glazed Redware, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, a spittoon and flare-rimmed cuspidor, each coated in cream-colored slip, decorated with splashed copper and manganese, and covered in a clear lead glaze. Spittoon with shallow chipping to bottom edge and opening at shoulder as well as small flecks of glaze loss to body. Cuspidor with rim wear, flecks of glaze loss to body, and chips and wear to bottom edge. H (of taller) 6 1/2".
