Glazed Redware Jar, American, possibly Hagerstown, MD, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed base, semi-rounded rim, and wavy line incising to shoulder, the exterior surface covered in a blackish lead-and-manganese glaze, the interior with unusual cream glaze. Provenance: Acquired in Middletown, Frederick County, MD. Wear to rim. A few base chips. A tiny glaze nick to one side and some minor surface wear. Some in-the-making matte areas to glaze. Whitish paint residue to base. H 10".
