Two Rustic Redware Banks, probably Pennsylvania origin, circa 1875, one of beehive form with unusual crimped finial molding, the surface heavily-incised to resemble tree bark, with applied sawed limbs, the underside with unsubstantiated label attributing the bank to "Lewis Dry / Drysville (sic) Pa"; paired with a lead-glazed bank with footed base and ovoid body, the surface heavily-incised, including applied clay knots. Provenance: Crocker Farm, Inc., October 28, 2017, lot 269. Unglazed example with chip to tip of finial, loss to crimping, and other minor wear. Glazed example with chips to applied knots and some damage to finial. H (of unglazed bank) 5 1/2".
