Two Pieces of Cobalt-Stenciled Advertising Stoneware, Western PA origin, circa 1880, a one-gallon jug, stenciled "N. HORKHEIMER & CO. / No 1152 / WATER AND / 1,3 & 5 TWELFTH / STS. / WHEELING. W.VA.;" paired with a one-gallon jar with freehand stripe decoration, stenciled "E.J. MILLER SON & CO. / DEALERS IN / CHINA AND / GLASS WARE. / ALEXANDRIA . VA." Jug with a spout chip, a spout nick, spider crack to shoulder, and some staining and crazing to surface. Jar with a 2 1/4" chip to rim and some wear and light crazing to surface. H 9 7/8".
