Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars with Punxsutawney, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, a one-gallon ovoid jar with stenciled flourishes and a two-gallon cylindrical jar with stenciled and freehand decoration, both impressed with the advertising, "GRIER BROS. / PUNXSUTAWNEY, / PA." One-gallon jar in excellent condition with light surface wear. Two-gallon jar with two thin cracks from rim, measuring 5" and 4", the latter descending from a small glued rim chip. H 8 1/4".
